Monthly Seminar Series: Dr. Chuchu Zhang – “Neural Mechanisms of Nausea”

Nausea is a protective but often debilitating sensation that limits the use of many important therapies, and current anti-nausea drugs are frequently ineffective because the underlying brain mechanisms are poorly understood. Dr. Zhang will discuss the identification of specific neuron circuits in the brain’s area postrema that drive or suppress nausea in response to blood-borne signals, revealing new targets and a circuit framework for better predicting and therapeutically controlling nausea.
